KONFLUENT

In 2001, aged 16, Drum & Bass fanatic, Konfluent attended his first rave at the iconic Sanctuary in Milton Keynes. He immediately wanted to become a DJ and was particularly inspired by Andy C’s mixing style. At 17, he started practicing on his brothers Technics 1210’s alone in his bedroom and would listen to Andy’s legendary ‘Nightlife’ mix CD’s on repeat, trying to replicate his style. By 19, he was playing local bars for free. After 4 years of performing in small pubs and bars, he landed his first paid gig playing for local night OX4 at the Bullingdon, Oxford. Konfluent then entered a DJ competition run by Oxford Student night, Free Range. He went on to win the competition in December 2008 and by February 2009 he was playing alongside Chase & Status for Free Range at the O2 Academy, Oxford. Between 2009 and 2012, Konfluent went on to play alongside the likes of Shy FX, Subfocus, Friction, Sigma, DJ Marky, S.P.Y, DJ Hype, Logistics, Loadstar, MJ Cole, Zed Bias, Nero, and P Money for Free Range as a Drum & Bass DJ. In the summer of 2009, Konfluent attended renowned festival, Global Gathering and is where his love of house music was born. This new love was then only enhanced by his regular trips to Ibiza. Konfluent started collecting House vinyls and began honing his craft, introducing his Drum & Bass mixing style into House blends. In 2013, he got his first House gig for Switch at the O2 Academy, Oxford, playing after Josh Butler. Following that he went on to support Shadow Child, Huxley and Kry Wolf at Switch events. Since Covid, Konfluent has been busy, playing for new, exciting, Oxford based night, Sonder. Playing at the O2 Academy, The Bullingdon and FREVD. So far, he has supported Darius Syrossian, Todd Terry, Secondcity, Rich NxT, Wheats and Fleur Shore with Sonder. He also entered national DJ competition, Mixmaster in 2021 and came 3rd out of 193 participants. Konfluent pushed himself and was performing with 3 and 4 decks in a mixture of CDJ’s and Turntables which is now a regular sight at his more recent shows. 2022 is set to be a big year for Konfluent with Sonder, not only with their club nights but also their summer series of 'secret parties'. Expect hard hitting, fast paced tech house tracks mixed with double drops, quick, inventive mixing and his infectious high energy.
